Universal Minecraft Converter (UMC) is a desktop utility designed to move Minecraft worlds between different editions and platforms with minimal loss of detail. It translates chunks, blocks, entities, and player data so you can keep building in your favorite edition without starting over.

What it does

  • Converts worlds between Java and Bedrock editions
  • Handles many legacy and platform-specific saves (e.g., Windows 10/11 Bedrock, iOS/Android Bedrock, Xbox 360/One, PS3/PS4, Wii U), where save access is possible
  • Remaps blocks, items, entities, and biomes to the closest equivalent for the target edition
  • Preserves dimensions (Overworld, Nether, End), player inventories/positions, and most structures
  • Offers batch conversion and automatic fixes for common issues (IDs, height limits, coordinates)

Why it’s useful

  • Keep long-term worlds alive when switching platforms or editions
  • Share and archive builds without manual rebuilding
  • Speed up migration for servers, realms, and single‑player saves

Notes and limitations

  • Always back up your worlds before converting
  • Modded content, custom NBT, complex command blocks, datapacks, and certain redstone mechanics may not convert perfectly
  • Some console saves are encrypted; you must legally obtain and decrypt your own save files
  • Texture packs, shaders, and mods are not converted

UMC focuses on accuracy and convenience, helping you carry your creations forward with as much fidelity as the target edition allows.
